For all of you who have been very patient with our twice yearly sanding and aeration maintenance of the golf course: Thank you very much.
Almost everyone knows that aeration of greens/fairways is an essential portion of keeping a golf course green, healthy, and draining well. I have often marveled how much sand we use and Brant tells me we put out about 1000 cubic yards of sand every spring and fall. This is much more aggressive than many golf courses but we get a lot of rain in Bandon and we would like it to be nearly as firm and fast in the middle of the winter as it is in the middle of the summer.
I would like to personally thank our maintenance crew who have been steadfast throughout this year and may have the golf course in the best condition it has been in since it was constructed in 2007. It comes at the cost of many hours with staff who really care about the result.
What does that mean for you? My guess is that the course will be in the best condition this winter ever.
Brant tells me that when checked today the greens are running between 10 1/2 and 11 on the stimpmeter (not bad for less than 2 weeks after aeration)
Come and see us and perhaps share our admiration for the fine job our maintenance staff has done on Bandon Crossings.
